Luke Wasson is an 18 year old pickleball player from Northern California who spends a majority of the year living and playing pickleball in Los Barriles, BCS

 

Luke’s game has really progressed in the past year. He went from a tall, lanky, strong kid to an even taller, stronger, and well refined pickleball player. His powerful shots remain his bread and butter. His drives are really strong, his reflexes great at the net and the leverage he uses for volleys and overheads are almost impossible to beat. He has really learned to position his dinks better to set up put away shots, and he has added several trick shots to his arsenal. Wasson doesn’t always look like he’s playing hard but that is simply a testament to his ability to cover a lot of ground with his reach and his shot placement skills. Luke has even been progressing in singles taking 2nd to Aldo Manriquez at Tres Palapas’ 2023 International Tournament.

Joe is very much a scholar of the game, and is always strategizing and experimenting in making his game better. Joe has a very strong serve that sets him and his opponent up well. His dinking game is very precise, always moving his opponents around, and is always thinking a few shots ahead. Any mistake at the kitchen Joe is ready to pounce on, and his ability to recover from his own mistakes makes putting away a ball against him very tough.
